Welcoming your students to your class is something instructors do automatically in face to face teaching environments. In the asynchronous components of your course, you will need to introduce yourself more deliberately, through text and media.
The simplest way to do this is by posting a welcome announcement on your Blackboard home page. A more complex way to welcome students it to create a video tour of the course.
